Dr. Jordan Tang
Music Director and Conductor
Paducah Symphony Orchestra

Dr. Jordan Tang is in his twenty-second season as Music Director of the Paducah

Symphony Orchestra. He previously served as Associate Conductor of the Charlotte Symphony and Charlotte Pops Orchestra, Music Director of the Ozark Festival Orchestra, Southwest Missouri State University Symphony, Youth Symphony of the Carolinas , and the New Music Ensemble in Utah . As a guest conductor, he has directed the Hong Kong Philharmonic and the Nashville , Memphis , Kansas City, South Arkansas and Sewanee Summer Music Center Orchestras, as well as the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra.

As a composer, Dr. Tang has written more than seventy works that have been performed by the Utah , Indianapolis , Atlanta , Nashville , Charlotte , Kansas City, Knoxville , Springfield and Elmira symphony orchestras, as well as the Hong Kong and Rochester philharmonic orchestras. His works have also been performed in England and some have been commercially recorded. As a publishes composer, Dr. Tang has received numerous awards from the American Society of Composers, Arrangers and Publishers (ASCAP), and he was named Tennessee Composer of the Year by the Tennessee Music Teachers Association.

Under Dr. Tang's leadership, the Paducah Symphony Orchestra has experienced remarkable growth in both its performances and its revenues. Dr. Tang is also Music Director and Conductor of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra in Jackson , TN , where he resides with his wife, Cindy and children, Philip and Paige.
